I remember when I was a child, in the 80s, how I enjoyed making creations with Block Games (Lego). At that time, the “Tentes” brand was the predominant brand in Spain. Perhaps one of our dear tokeners remembers it.
I remember searching for days on end for those damn little pieces that I had lost and urgently needed to finish my super mega spaceship, with which I wanted to conquer the universe ;) .
Today, with games like “The SandBox”. This type of problem has been relegated to the past, since, simply, the piece that you do not have you create it. There are no limits.
Origin of "The SandBox"
“The SandBox”, is a video game created by Arthur Madrid and Sebastien Borget. It was designed for iOS and Android, and was released for the first time on May 15, 2012. It became so successful that in 2016 they released a second version, "The Sandbox Evolution". Between the two editions, 40 million downloads were exceeded.
In August 2018, the Korean company, “Animoca Brands'', world-renowned in the video game industry, takes over the game for $4.875 million dollars and, encouraged by the extensive growth of the crypto ecosystem and the sudden appearance of the smart contracts. He decides to transfer the intellectual property of the game to the Ethereum blockchain, with the aim of breaking into the crypto ecosystem by competing against existing games such as Minecraft and Roblox, providing game users and creators with something unthinkable until then. Grant them the right to become owners of their own creations within the game, by being able to mint their own NFTs and thus reward them for their participation in the platform.
After a year of development, on December 5, 2019, "Animoca Brands" makes the official presentation in the crypto ecosystem of "The Sandbox'', starting the first pre-sale of LANDs of this metaverse, achieving a resounding success. Absolutely, all the pre-sale LANDs were sold in a record time of 4 hours.
In fact, with the arrival of "The Sandbox" to the crypto world. “Animoca Brands'', has become one of the few companies to achieve great success within the blockchain gaming ecosystem.
What is "The SandBox"?
“The SandBox” is a Play-To-Earn game which is part of a 3D virtual world, created entirely from voxels: Cubic equivalents (3 dimensions), of pixels (2 dimensions).

Another thing to keep in mind is that "The Sandbox" allows owners to completely create the content of their land, through the "Vox Edit'' software, being able to monetize that content within the same platform.

As I mentioned, "The Sandbox" provides ecosystem users with free tools to create within the platform. One of those tools, “Vox Edit'': is a software with which users can create anything they want, from voxels, avatars, characters, ornamental items, etc. These creations are called: ASSETS.
The ASSETs created can be used to trade Peer-To-Peer in the platform's marketplace. Creating, in this way, an open trade in which buyers and sellers benefit, because other people can use these creations to decorate their land.
Another free software that this metaverse makes available to the user is "Game Maker''. This software is used to create mini-games or small interactive apps within the platform itself. So, users can use the ASSETs created with "Vox Edit" within these small applications. all used assets are held in an ERC-1155 token. Which means that these tokens can also be monetized within the platform itself.

It works as a utility token. Which allows owners to create avatars, make transactions in exchange for virtual goods or services and buy and sell LANDs. As well as other types of economic services that can proliferate within the ecosystem.
It also serves as a governance token, allowing owners the ability to vote within the DAO on any of the policy updates and grants to improve the platform.
Another of the basic tokens within The Sandbox is the LAND token, this is an ERC-721 token. It serves to delimit the ownership of an area of land within the game. Possession of LAND tokens in The Sandbox allows players to:
Access games within the metaverse.
Allows you to create unique spaces that other players can use. For example: If you own a LAND, you can create anything on it, and if other users want to access it, they can do so by paying a small fee.
The second option clearly shows the potential of monetizing LAND, as it allows owners to create spaces that can be rented to other users or simply sell those NFts when their price increases.
ASSETS is an ERC-1155 token used to represent the various creative elements within the game. For example: A piece of equipment that you carry in your avatar, or simply a digital pet inside it.
In any case, the ASSETS are divided into the following categories:
Entity: Used to identify any design element within the game. A tree is an ASSETS, and an ERC-1155 smart contract associated with all its characteristics is attached to it.
Equipment: It is used to identify anything that you can incorporate into your avatar. For example, a sword for your samurai avatar, or armor with Bitcoin logos for your feudal warrior.
Block: It allows you to create spaces, and it is basic to build your own world within the game.
Price evolution (SAND).
The SANDBOX token (SAND) went on sale around $0.05 cents, in August 2021 and is currently trading at $2.76 dollars, which means a 5500% revaluation since its departure.
In November 2021, it reached its historical maximum, reaching a market price of 8.40 dollars. Since then and due to the general falls of the entire market, in exactly 2 months, its price has fallen by approximately 75%. At the moment, it remains in the position Nº42 of Coinmarketcap, with a market capitalization of $2,553 million dollars.
Its total supply is 3,000 million tokens, of which there are currently 922 million in circulation, a third of the total. In my opinion, if the coinmarketcap data is correct. In my opinion, 2,000 million tokens is a very high number of tokens, something to take into account in the future price of this asset. Conclusions
“The Sandbox” is a metaverse, using the power of the blockchain to achieve a new monetization model. Its own marketplace and the facilities that the platform makes available to users so that they can create NFTs, through the use of free software. It makes this project unique in the world.
